The FAD awards were created in 1958 with the aimo of promoting the avant-gard tendencies of the time and to acknowledge high quality works in the new paths and investigations that were opening up and transforming the traditional forms and languajes of design. Since 2006 five branches of conceptually different kind of works are eligible to receive awards: architecture, interior design, temporary interventions, thought and criticism, and city & landscape. Arquinfad is the interdisciplinary design association of the FAD (Foment de les Arts i el Diseny = Fostering Arts & Design). It is an independent, non-profit, cultural association created as an umbrella organisation to support all professionals and institutions engaged in spatial work, in the broadest sense. four photography competitions will assign assistance grants and travel expenses to go to the Congress of "Necessary Architecture" organised by the Architecture and Society Foundation from 11 to 13 June 2014. [scalae] FIGUERAS, CRICURSA, LAMP and GEZE, companies which participate in the editorial and industrial board of the SCALAE international e-book collection are holding photography competitions on the photoLab of the scalae app. They will allocate assistance grants and travel expenses to go to the Congress of "Necessary Architecture" organised by the Architecture and Society Foundation to the winners. SCALAE makes an official announcement of four photography competitions, particular but also simple in their requirements*. which in a participatory manner will assign assistance grants (entrance valued at 300 euros) and travel expenses (200 euros for travel and accommodation expenses) to the photographers of the 4 top rated photographs in different sections,** to go to the Congress of "Necessary Architecture" organised by the Architecture and Society Foundation from 11 to 13 June 2014. sobre lo que une, y sobre las ocasiones en que se encuentran, a quienes comparten motivaciones que están en el oficio, en la técnica y en lo colectivo… MAY2014
Principios y procesos de una situación plural. sobre lo que une, y sobre las ocasiones en que se encuentran, a quienes comparten motivaciones que están en el oficio, en la técnica y en lo colectivo... Un efecto benigno, que los hay también, del contexto actual es lo cruel que resulta con aquellas iniciativas institucionales, profesionales o empresariales exclusivamente fundamentadas en la cultura del beneficio. Es decir: fundamentadas en el abstracto o real "comprar barato para vender caro", sin añadir otro valor que el de la pura y lisa intermediación. La desaparición de los “márgenes” deja en la inanición a este tipo de actitudes. Y debemos considerarlo afortunado. Por el contrario, y por su derivada capacidad de supervivencia, se evidencian si cabe con mayor rotundidad las iniciativas profesionales y empresariales basadas en idearios que asumen experiencia, tradiciones, investigación y trabajo colectivo como la base de su labor. Labor, en el caso del proyecto y la construcción de la arquitectura, habitualmente orientada a contribuir con soluciones abiertas pero de ámbito específico: acristalar, iluminar, automatizar, sentarse, asearse… Un planteamiento de genética simultáneamente local y global, concreta y abierta, que es -junto con la pericia infusa de las personas/familias que le dan soporte- uno de los secretos mejor guardados de la industria española de calidad. De la que se puede y debe hablar. Y, digámoslo, también de la europea. Esa actitud: la defensa del patrimonio del conocimiento, de la experiencia y de la excelencia antes que del beneficio, pero como base esencial de su también necesario resultado positivo para poder sostener una comunidad laboral, humana, convierte a ese tipo de empresarios y profesionales en...
